Marquette High's athletic program is one of the most successful in the state, not only in terms of accomplishments but -- and more importantly -- in participation.
-
Annually, 60 percent of MUHS students participate in a sport, strong evidence of our commitment to providing ample opportunities for student participation. While the MUHS sports program is competitive, it is also our philosophy to include as many students as is reasonably possible. Therefore, there is at least one non-cut sport in every season and two freshman teams in multiple sports.
It is the athletic department’s philosophy to focus on the big picture which includes the school mission and developing good human beings first, closely followed by good athletes. This can be done by instilling life skills such as work ethic, morals, leadership and other characteristics that student-athletes can carry with them throughout their lives. Marquette student-athletes also always put the team ahead of their own individual needs. Add a performance component, or getting our athletes to perform at their absolute best, and this leads to a sound formula for success.
Marquette University High School is a Division 1 school in all twelve WIAA sanctioned varsity sports. In addition to the twelve WIAA sanctioned sports, MUHS also offers skiing and three club sports. For more information on the different sports and teams click on one of links below:
