Freshman Retreat

Freshman Retreat Information 2012

Dear Freshman Parents and Guardians,

Each year the freshmen at Marquette High join in an annual weekend retreat experience known as the Freshman Retreat. This year it will be held from the early evening of Friday, March 15, through the late morning of Saturday, March 17. Most of the retreat will take place at Marquette High, but some events will occur outside of the school. Student leaders will provide transportation to these outside events. Students of all faiths are required to make this retreat, and it is a graduation requirement.

The Freshman Retreat has been planned by a select group of juniors and seniors. The captains of this year's retreat are seniors Joe Bartoletti and Jack Koppa. The faculty moderators are Mr. Chris Krall, SJ, Mr. Vince Kostos, and Ms. Mary Beth McBride Doyle. Your son will be in a group of five or six freshmen. Either a junior or senior will lead his group.

All freshmen should bring the following to the retreat:

For Thursday:
Snacks to share with group
Change for the drink machine
A pen or pencil
$10.00 for an evening meal on Friday plus a recreation activity

For Friday:
Change for the drink machine
A sack lunch (food service will not available in the cafeteria)
A sleeping bag and pillow
A pen or pencil
A warm sweater or sweatshirt
A change of clothes for Sat. morning

We encourage all parents of freshmen to support their sons as they prepare for this retreat. This retreat will probably be the most important spiritual experience of your son’s freshman year and could possibly affect his remaining high school years and beyond. Please pray for a successful retreat!

Your son's group leader will call both you and your son prior to the retreat with further details. If a student leader has not contacted you and your son by February 29, please call Mr. Kostos at 414-933-7220, ext. 3036. If you have questions, feel free to ask your son's group leader when he calls.

May God bless you and your family!

Sincerely,
