Six Seniors Sign Letters to Play College Sports

Six Marquette University High School seniors signed letters of intent on Feb. 1 (National Signing Day for some sports) to confirm their plans to play sports while attending college in the fall. The 11:30 a.m. signing ceremony was held in the school’s O’Rourke Performing Arts Hall and included the athletes’ parents and coaches.

Youth Baseball Camps Offered Feb. & April 2012

"Youth baseball camps are back at MUHS! Head Varsity Baseball Coach Sal Bando Jr. and the MUHS coaching staff will host a four-session camp in February and in April. The camp is opened to 6th-8th graders and features 10 hours of instruction. In addition the camp will feature a "Parent Portal" where parents will be invited to attend a lecture by a coach and another one by an umpire. The camp will focus on offensive and defensive skill but adds the 6th tool - "baseball mentality."

Athletic Performance Camps Offered to 5th-8th Graders

The Athletic Department is offering two performance camps geared towards 6th- 8th grade students. The performance camp covers a variety of training methods for athletes. The Speed & Agility Camp focuses on training methods to improve acceleration, change of direction, and explosiveness. Both camps run five consecutive Sundays beginning Feb. 26.
