Finding a college that is a good fit is the College Counseling office's primary goal for every Marquette High student.
It means serious personal reflection, dedicated research, scheduled visits to colleges and universities, thoughtful applications and essays and a willingness to think outside the box.
Finding a good fit doesn’t mean there is only one right school for each student; there are likely a dozen or more good fits out there for everyone. While MUHS has one process for finding the right school, it is important to remember that students are individuals different from their parents, siblings, teachers and even best friends. Each student must acknowledge and accept what makes him unique, what he needs inside and outside the classroom as well as what resources are available to select the right college or university. Life after high school will be what you make of it, wherever that is.
As you embark on this journey be willing to work hard (and play hard to keep perspective). Ask yourself the tough questions, engage in those uncomfortable conversations, think outside the box, utilize your resources (including the MUHS staff), celebrate your accomplishments and use your faith to serve as your “compass” as you move down the college choice path. As they say, “Enjoy the ride!”
