Marquette University High School is led by administrators who bring deep experience in Jesuit education, Catholic formation and the daily work of helping young men grow in faith, scholarship and character.

Father Daniel J. Kennedy, SJ

President

Father Daniel J. Kennedy, SJ, serves as the 12th president of Marquette University High School, bringing a deep commitment to Jesuit education, Ignatian spirituality and the formation of young men.

A native of Toledo, Ohio, Father Kennedy attended St. John's Jesuit High School before earning a bachelor's degree in philosophy and theology from Boston College and a master's degree in philosophy from Saint Louis University. His Jesuit formation has included service as a theology teacher and director of student activities at Creighton Preparatory School, spiritual direction at Eastern Point Retreat House in Massachusetts, and leadership at the University of Detroit Jesuit High School and Academy, where he served as Executive Vice President and Special Assistant to the President.

Father Kennedy was ordained to the priesthood in 2023 at the Church of the Gesu in Milwaukee. He also holds graduate formation in divinity, spiritual direction and clinical mental health counseling.

Throughout his ministry, Father Kennedy has emphasized the importance of presence, hope and genuine community. At Marquette High, he is committed to helping students grow in faith, discover their gifts and become men for and with others who carry the mission of Jesuit education into the world.

Jeff Monday '84

Principal and Executive Vice President

Jeff Monday '84 serves as Principal and Executive Vice President of Marquette University High School, providing leadership for the school's academic and student experience and helping guide its strategic planning.

A graduate of Marquette High, Monday returned to his alma mater as principal in 2010 following more than two decades of service to Catholic education at Messmer High School and Messmer Catholic Schools. During his 22 years at Messmer, he served as a mathematics teacher, advisor, coach, vice principal, principal and executive vice president.

Monday earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Creighton University and a master's degree in education administration and supervision from Marquette University.

His career has been recognized with numerous honors for leadership in Catholic education, including the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Award from the Archdiocese of Milwaukee, the Kohl Foundation Excellence in School Leadership Award, the Archbishop's Distinguished Educator Award and the MUHS Alumni Merit Award.

Across nearly four decades in Catholic education, Monday's work has centered on students, faculty and the Jesuit mission of forming young men of faith, scholarship and character.
