MUHS Students Excel in AP Performance

Chris Reis

Marquette High School students posted strong results in Advanced Placement courses during the 2025–26 school year, with strength in courses including calculus, chemistry, literature, history, computer science and world languages.

The results provide one measure of how Marquette students are performing in college-level coursework across disciplines.

In AP Calculus BC, Marquette students earned an average score of 4.44, compared with 3.91 statewide and 3.92 globally. Every Marquette student who took the exam earned a score of 3 or higher.

A 100% rate of scores of 3 or higher was also recorded in AP Chemistry, AP Spanish Language and Culture, and AP United States History. Average scores in those courses were 4.14, 4.30 and 4.13, respectively.

Results were also strong in AP Computer Science A, where students averaged 4.30 and 95% earned a score of 3 or higher. In AP English Literature and Composition, 97.2% of Marquette students earned a 3 or higher, compared with 81.8% statewide and 72.9% globally.

In the sciences and social sciences, 92.9% of AP Biology students earned a 3 or higher, while AP Physics 1 reached 95%. AP European History recorded a 94.6% rate, and AP Human Geography reached 93.9%.

Across the AP subjects included in the report, Marquette’s average course mean was approximately 3.58, compared with 3.40 for Wisconsin and 3.31 globally. The average percentage of Marquette students earning scores of 3 or higher across those subjects was approximately 87%, compared with 78% statewide and 73% globally.

Taken together, the 2025–26 AP results reflect a program in which students are regularly taking on challenging coursework and, in many subjects, performing above state and global benchmarks.
