Jeffrey and Sarah Bahr Receive 2025 Spirit of St. Ignatius Award

Marquette University High School is honored to recognize Jeffrey and Sarah Bahr with the 2025 Spirit of St. Ignatius Award, celebrating community members who exemplify Ignatian ideals.

They were honored along with fellow Spirit of Ignatius recipient Terry Kelly

Parents of Josh ’22 and Evan ’25, Sarah and Jeff have poured their time and talent into MUHS for years. Sarah served as Topper Auction Acquisitions Chair in 2021, 2023 and 2025, and she and Jeff co-chaired the auction in 2022 and 2023. Jeff has been an active member of the Fathers Club and volunteered as a Science Olympiad competition proctor, and Sarah supported the MUHS community as a volunteer school nurse from 2018–2020. Their leadership and generosity also extend to scholarships and the Kingsbury Academic Success Center as members of the St. Ignatius Society of Lifetime Giving.

Their service radiates throughout Milwaukee. Sarah continues to support Marquette University through the College of Nursing Campaign Committee (2019–present) and the Alumni National Awards Selection Committee (2021–present); she also volunteered at the Advocate Aurora COVID Vaccine Clinic and assists with Franciscan Peacemakers lunches. Jeff serves on the Wisconsin Hospital Association Board of Directors (2018–present) and was elected board chair in 2025. Together, they have supported Open Arms Free Clinic, American Lung Association, Boy Scouts of America and their parish, Lumen Christi Catholic Church.

Professionally, Jeff is Chief Physician Executive for the Wisconsin and Illinois Divisions of Advocate Health and a fellow of the American College of Physicians. Sarah’s clinical expertise spans years in Froedtert Hospital’s Transplant Surgery and a Ph.D. in Nursing from Marquette University (2019). Their excellence has been recognized through numerous honors, including Jeff’s selection among Milwaukee Business Journal’s Best Doctors of Internal Medicine (2015–2016) and Sarah’s Froedtert Extra Miler (2001) and Utilization of Research (2007) awards, alongside academic honor society inductions for both.

Grounded in faith, steeped in service, and committed to the flourishing of others, Sarah and Jeff embody the Ignatian magis, striving for “more” in the service of God and neighbor. MUHS is grateful for their leadership, generosity and example.
