For nearly 160 years, Marquette High has delivered an exceptional, college-preparatory experience to young men, helping them developing spirituality, emotionally, intellectually, artistically, morally and physically. Students are immersed in a respectful, challenging, and caring environment and become part of a diverse community.

During their four years, students will develop their faith and acquire an awareness of the dignity and needs of all people. Upon graduation, they will join a distinct and vast network of Marquette High alumni around the world who are Christ-like "Men for Others."

Core Curriculum
Marquette High’s core curriculum with a strong emphasis on the humanities equips students with the ability to speak and write well, to think critically and analyze issues.

Advanced Placement
Students seeking a college-level challenge in the classroom can find it through AP courses. 726 AP exams were administered in 17 subjects.

Marquette High seeks to create a diverse community where students are challenged to see the world from perspectives they've never experienced -- be it geographic, cultural, or socio-economic.
Co-curriculars
Marquette High offers more than 50 different homerooms and after-school clubs, including debate, robotics, Latin, Key Club, Best Buddies, rock climbing and improvisation.

Spiritual Development
As a Catholic school in the Jesuit tradition, Ignatian spirituality, a spirituality for everyday life, guides students in their faith development through individual and group activities -- academic and experiential.

Men for Others
The service program at MUHS enables students to realize that their talents and gifts are to be developed for the good of the human community in pursuit of the Jesuit ideal of becoming "Men for Others."
Athletics
Team Work
At MUHS, 90% of students will play a interscholastic or club sport during their four years. At least one no-cut varsity sport and freshman teams are fielded every season in every sport.

Intramurals
The intramural program is enjoyed by 70% of students each year and offers basketball, dodgeball, kickball and indoor soccer. It's all for fun. No experience necessary.

Principal's Message

Welcome to Marquette University High School.

MUHS is a special community of students, alumni, parents, faculty, staff and friends. We invite you to explore this Web site to learn about our academic program, our mission, our history, our co-curricular offerings, our Catholic identity in the Jesuit tradition and much more.

Academic excellence has been a hallmark of a Marquette High education for more than 150 years. Faculty and staff work tirelessly to see that each student reaches his potential. While challenging and developing our students' intellect, faculty are committed to cura personalis, care for the whole person. The performance of our students stands as a testimony to the exemplary education they receive. Last year, Marquette High was one of only 23 private schools in the United States and the only Wisconsin high school recognized as a 2021 National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education. This is the highest honor given by the U.S. Department of Education. MUHS is honored in the Exemplary High Performing category for academic performance.

Students at Marquette High are well prepared to be successful in colleges and universities throughout the United States. However, a Marquette High education is more than academic excellence. As a Catholic school, Marquette High prepares students to become leaders who are committed to faith, justice and service. While in high school students gain the valuable experience of serving others, whether through tutoring and mentoring younger children, serving at a homeless shelter, or being companions to the elderly. Each year, students will provide more than 25,000 total hours of service to the community. These experiences, our retreat program, as well as other co-curricular programs form students to become "Men for Others."
