Nicole Williams to Step Down as Head Track and Field Coach

Nicole Williams

After more than a decade with Marquette University High School Track and Field, Nicole Williams has announced she will step down from her role as Head Track and Field Coach.

During her time with the program, MUHS earned a number of major team accomplishments, including a 5th-place finish at the 2026 WIAA Division 1 State Track & Field Championships, the 2025 Greater Metro Conference championship, and a Conference Relays championship in 2024. The program also captured four straight state wheelchair team titles from 2023 through 2026.

Coach Williams joined the MUHS track and field staff beginning with the 2016 season and has served as head coach since the 2020 season. In addition to leading the overall program, she played a key role as a sprints, jumps, hurdles, and relays coach, with particular expertise in hurdles and relays.

Program records from Coach Williams’ tenure reflect remarkable individual and record-setting success. MUHS athletes broke 19 school records during her time with the program, including 4 indoor records, 10 outdoor records, and 5 wheelchair records. Those marks included school records in every relay event. She also coached four of the top ten hurdlers in school history, and MUHS athletes set three state records in wheelchair competition.

Before coming to MUHS, Coach Williams began coaching at Beloit Turner in 2009, serving as Head Girls Coach and Hurdles Coach beginning with the 2012 season.

While Coach Williams is stepping away from leading the track and field program, she will continue to serve MUHS as a science teacher and as a coach of the Science Olympiad team.

MUHS is deeply grateful to Coach Williams for her years of dedication, leadership, and service to the track and field program. The search process for the next head coach will begin immediately.
