July 29, 2021 PARENT NEWSLETTER
Dear Parents and Guardians,
I hope this email finds you well and filled with excitement to begin the 2021-22 school year in just a few weeks. This communication provides important information in preparation for what promises to be a year filled with new opportunities of faith, scholarship and community for your sons.
We look forward to a year of being fully in-person for classes and co-curriculars. In consultation with health experts, we continue to work on refining our COVID-19 prevention measures for the fall semester as the situation continues to evolve. These measures will be released soon.
Thank you for completing the recent survey to determine the vaccination and immunity levels at MUHS. I am pleased to inform you that over 80% of our community will be fully vaccinated or have immunity for the start of the school year. (76% of students and employees will be fully vaccinated and another 4.5% have immunity due to previously testing positive for COVID-19.) As "men and women for others" there remains a strong commitment to care for the health and wellbeing of those around us.
In that spirit, on July 31 we celebrate the Feast of St. Ignatius of Loyola. This celebration is particularly relevant during this Ignatian Year, when we join together to return to our Ignatian roots to see all things new in Christ.
AMDG,
Jeff Monday Principal

We experienced some technical issues over the first two weeks of the Bookstore's opening that kept second-semester-only textbooks from displaying in the Bookstore. If you purchased books between July 20 and July 26, the list of textbooks displayed in eCampus was incomplete. Consult the textbook list available on the MUHS Bookstore website against your son's schedule to ensure that he has all his books for the 2021-2022 school year. Departments most affected by this issue include English, Theology, and Social Studies. Visit the MUHS Bookstore website for additional details on how to log in to eCampus. Topper Shop Now Open An all-new Topper Shop has officially launched. A wide variety of officially branded Hilltopper gear is now available, with new items being added in the weeks ahead. All future orders from the Topper Shop will be available for pickup in the main office each Tuesday after 1 p.m., and home delivery is also an option. Families who previously placed orders during the Topper Shop registration sale will be able to pick up their items outside the gym by the Athletics Office on Registration Day -- Wednesday, Aug. 18. Questions can be directed to Jake Cosson at jake@bsg1881.com. MUHS Student Parking Information Every car parked in the school lot must have a current MUHS sticker affixed to the inside lower left corner of the driver's windshield. Your son will receive this year's 21-22 green and blue parking sticker at Registration. Please place the sticker on the car your son intends to bring to school. This is a "static cling" permit, peel and stick to the inside windshield. No students will be allowed in the faculty parking lot. If you need more than one sticker, your son may come to the main office during the school day and ask for one. Sophomore Retreat Information Sophomores are required to participate in one of the seven Sophomore Retreats scheduled throughout the academic year. Please visit the Sophomore Retreat Google Site to learn more about the retreats and to register for this retreat experience. Students will need to log on to their computers using their MUHS email account and password to access the registration form. Be sure to compare retreat dates with your extra-curricular and family calendars to select dates that do not conflict with any of your other activities and commitments. Parents, please fill out the retreat permission slip and health form prior to registration day on Aug. 18. To access the health form, visit the Sophomore Retreat Google Site and simply click on the parental permission form -- parents don't need a password to access this form. Noack Strength and Fitness Programs Information regarding these fitness programs will be provided to students in the coming weeks.
Athletics Forms Reminder Students will need a physical, signed by a physician and dated after April 1, 2020, in order to be eligible for the 2021-22 school year. All students participating in athletics must have the required forms on file prior to the beginning of tryouts and practice in any sport.
