Our commitment to diversity, engagement, and belonging is enhanced this week as we celebrate Diversity Week. The activities and conversations of the week have focused on gratitude for one another and the differences that are represented in our community. January 19 - 27 has been recognized by the Catholic Church as 9 Days for Life, a novena for the protection of human life. Each day's intention is accompanied by a short reflection and suggested actions to help build a culture of life. Earlier today a group of students and faculty traveled to Washington D.C. for the annual March for Life event. These delegates represent the MUHS community as "men and women for others" advocating for the sanctity of life at every stage and in every circumstance. Thank you to our Student Diversity Board and the Hilltoppers Defending Life for advancing the mission of MUHS through their work and service. AMDG, Jeff Monday Principal |

From College Counseling SENIOR PARENTS JUNIOR PARENTS Junior College Planning Meetings & Reflection Piece: Starting in late January, individual Junior College Planning meetings will begin to be scheduled with Mrs. Cleary (student last names A-L) or Mrs. Bennett (student last names M-Z) to begin the college search conversation. These meetings will span over the entire second semester. Students will receive an email from Mrs. Sullivan with his meeting date/time. If your son is eager to begin the conversation early, please have him email Mrs. Sullivan at sullivank@muhs.edu to request an earlier appointment in the semester. Our request to parents as your son prepares for this meeting: Please ask your son for a 10-minute commitment to complete the short "Junior Reflection" survey before his meeting. He can complete this eight-question survey at any time by logging into Naviance and following this path from the top right menu tabs: About Me > Surveys from Your School > Junior Reflection. This request is being shared with your student within his meeting appointment email but your encouragement will help us achieve a better completion rate. Reminder, if you missed our November Junior College Information Night, your student can pick up a folder of the program handouts which includes doable action steps and parent/student conversation topics for the college search process. All handouts are also posted in Naviance document resources in the "Junior College Info Night" folder. - ACT/SAT Reminder: While juniors have been given the option to take the state-wide ACT at MUHS on Tuesday, March 8, we strongly encourage juniors to plan to take 1-2 additional standardized tests – either the SAT or another ACT – beyond this March ACT date. For additional national test dates, you will register directly on the testing agency website. For future test dates and registration, visit ACT or SAT.
