| Dear Parents and Guardians, It is with humble gratitude that I reflect upon the recent weeks at Marquette High, as our school has come together in a spirit of brotherhood and camaraderie -- in response to adversity within our community as well as the challenges of our divided world. |

We continue to pray for JohnPaul Beine and his family, as JohnPaul remains hospitalized following a traumatic brain injury. Despite our sadness and concern, may we find comfort in God's presence in our midst, which has been made palpable through the extraordinary acts of love and prayer among our students in response to this tragedy. In the days ahead, the counseling and campus ministry teams will continue to be available to all students. I am also grateful for the amazing generosity of the MUHS community in support of Jesuit Relief Services' response to the crisis in Ukraine. The school has raised more than $6,000 so far for the JRS efforts, and I am deeply proud that we all stepped forward to be men and women for others in response to these challenging times. In addition, I am thankful for the Hilltopper spirit on display at last Saturday's Topper Auction. This special 50th anniversary event was a wonderful celebration of the faith, scholarship and community that is found in abundance at our school. An event of this magnitude simply is not possible without our auction chairs and we extend thanks to all of you who have contributed to the auction through volunteer services, donated gifts, and/or the gift of your presence. "Cirque Du Topper" was a successful event that will make a profound difference for our school and students. I wish you all moments of peace and contemplation during the remaining days of Lent as we journey toward Holy Week. (There will be no Hilltopper Parent Newsletter next week in observance of Holy Thursday and the start of the Easter holiday and spring break.) I wish you all a joyous Easter season, and look forward to a strong finish for the remaining weeks of the fourth quarter. Easter Blessings, Jeff Monday Principal |
