PARENT NEWSLETTER

Dear Parents and Guardians,

This morning we celebrated our first all-school Mass, the Mass of the Holy Spirit. Dating back to 1548, this liturgy is a tradition among Jesuit academic institutions in which we ask the Holy Spirit to be with us and to guide our efforts during the year.

During today's homily Fr. Marco encouraged the student body to be filled with the Spirit and approach this year as joy-filled people. This is prudent guidance given the many challenges we have encountered through the pandemic and loss in our school community, particularly with the passing of Mr. Feely. During times of struggle we may find true joy by turning to the love of one another, to the love of God, and healing that is offered through the Sacraments.

Speaking of joy, it was wonderful to be together for our Back-to-School parent nights. These evenings and other opportunities throughout the school year affirm the important partnership between the school and parents in support of your son's growth during these formative years of high school.

I am grateful for the dedication of our students, parents, and faculty in making this a great start to the 2022-23 school year. May you and your family have a joyful Labor Day weekend.

AMDG,

Mr. Jeff Monday

Principal

Counseling Department Questionnaire

Parents should complete the Counseling Department Questionnaire by Sept. 2 if you would like to share any pertinent information regarding your student's current needs. If anything has changed since filling out this form last school year or concerns are present, please complete the form. Submit one form for each student at MUHS. The information you share is confidential; you can designate with whom we can disclose information. This questionnaire does not address documented learning issues. Those concerns should be directed to Mrs. Cheryl Warner, director of learning services, at warner@muhs.edu. An email with this form was sent to parents on Aug. 24.

Open House Yard Signs Available

The 2022 MUHS Open House is Sunday, Oct. 23. To help promote the event, we have a supply of yard signs available that we would like our families and employees to place in their front yards or near their businesses, if possible. These yard signs are now available for pick-up after school at the Henke Entrance. Thanks for your help in promoting our Open House this year.
