Purchasing Textbooks for 2026-2027

Mothers Guild Used Book Sale - Unsold Books and Money Pickup on Aug. 17

If you did not pick up your money or any unsold books the day of the Used Book Sale, you may do so on Aug. 17 during Registration at the Mothers Guild Table. MUHS is unable to store any unclaimed books. Books not picked up by Registration day will become property of the Mothers Guild. For questions, please email mothersguild@muhs.edu.

If you do not find a textbook at the Used Book Sale, new and used textbooks may be purchased through eCampus, Marquette High's online bookstore vendor. If you have any questions about this process, do not hesitate to contact eCampus Customer Support.

Admissions Book Program

Books for the 2026-2027 School Year - If you have been notified by the Admissions Department that you are a part of the Admissions Book Program, do not attend the Mothers Guild Used Book Sale or purchase books from another source. More information will be provided to you regarding your book pick-up process.

Summer Reading

Summer reading is required for full-year and semester-long courses. The reading assignments below should be completed by the first day of school.

Incoming Freshmen:

  • In the Wild Light by Jeff Zentner

Rising Sophomores:

  • The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger 

Rising Juniors:

  • AP English Language (Cavanaugh, Ibarra) - In Cold Blood by Truman Capote

  • Expository Writing (Downey, Kahle, Neubeck) - Twelve Angry Men by Reginald Rose and David Mamet

  • Perspectives in Science Fiction (Waliszewski) Choose one of the following:

    • The Three-Body Problem by Cixin Liu and Ken Liu

    • The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams

    • Failure Is Not an Option: Mission Control From Mercury to Apollo 13 and Beyond by Gene Kranz

    • Parable of the Sower by Octavia E. Butler

  • Virtue & Vice (Downey, Zunac) - The Red Badge of Courage by Stephen Crane
  • World Literature (Kahle) - Solitaria by Eliana Alvez Cruz

Rising Seniors:
