School-based Therapist from Children's Wisconsin

The MUHS Counseling Department partners with Children's Wisconsin for access to a school-based therapist. Ms. Julie Bremer is a licensed clinical Social Worker employed by Children's Wisconsin and stationed at MUHS through the Children's Wisconsin School-Based Mental Health Program. Additionally, Ms. Bremer worked at Children's Hospital affiliated Craig Yabuki Mental Health Walk-In Clinic for children and teens experiencing urgent mental health issues. 

Ms. Bremer works with students and their families who are experiencing a range of emotional and behavioral problems. Some areas of concern that she can address may include: depression, anxiety, trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), behavior problems, adjustment issues due to stress or changes in the child's life, grief and loss issues and mental health.

The school-based mental health services from Children's Hospital are most appropriate for families who have difficulty bringing their child to an outside clinic due to some of the following reasons: transportation, childcare, scheduling issues, or other mental health concerns in the family.
